Searching For The Title Of A ?1950’s Or 1960’s Horror B-movie.?

I don’t recall much. I believe a craft (spaceship) had been found in a building being rennovated in some city. After excavating the ship I believe there were beings found inside the craft. At the end of the movie the main character battles one of the beings (which had become taller than the city buildings) with a construction crane. This is all I can recall. Although I do believe this film was shot in black and white.

It’s definitely not War of the Worlds. It sounds a little like 20 Million Miles to Earth, but in that one the Venusian ship crashed into the sea.
